As one of the UK’s most iconic cinema brands, ODEON launched its Feel Cinematic campaign to reconnect with audiences and reassert the magic of the big screen experience. I worked on the creative development of this campaign, helping bring the emotional essence of cinema to life across a range of visual formats.
My Role
As part of the creative team, my responsibilities included:
Designing key campaign layouts
Creating storyboards to guide visual storytelling and motion concepts
Executing typographic styling to evoke a bold, cinematic feel
The Challenge
The brief was to develop a creative platform that captured the emotive power of cinema—how it looks, sounds, and feels. Our goal was to:
Evoke a premium, immersive atmosphere
Appeal to both longtime cinema-goers and a new generation of audiences
Ensure the visuals translated across both static and motion-based formats
Creative Approach
We leaned into the language of cinema itself—light, shadow, scale, and drama—to craft visuals that felt rich, expressive, and larger-than-life. My design and storyboard work focused on:
Creating a visual rhythm that mirrored the arc of a cinematic experience
Balancing bold typography with dramatic imagery
Establishing layouts that could seamlessly transition from print to screen
Execution
I collaborated with the wider team to develop a suite of assets for the campaign launch, including:
Hero campaign visuals used in OOH, digital, and in-theatre placements
Storyboard frames for video production and animatics
Typographic systems that aligned with ODEON’s premium brand evolution
Impact
The Feel Cinematic campaign helped reposition ODEON as more than just a place to watch films—it reasserted its role as a destination for emotional, shared, cinematic experiences. The campaign resonated with audiences, contributing to increased brand engagement and in-theatre attendance following its launch.
