Client: Timberland
Role: Senior Designer
Scope: Visual Concept Development, Art Direction
⸻
Overview
I was brought in to evolve the existing 50-50 split layout Timberland was using at the time. The brief was to refresh the creative with more depth and a tactile feel, aligning with the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship and material quality.
⸻
Creative Approach
Rather than relying on a conventional layout, I sought to create a design that honored the product’s authenticity. Drawing inspiration directly from the materials and stitching of the Timberland boot, I selected textures and elements that would elevate the visual language while staying true to the brand’s rugged identity.
By incorporating close-up textures of leather and stitching, we crafted a background that grounded the layout in the very materials that define the product. A carefully considered angle and composition added depth and character, creating a more dynamic and immersive experience.
⸻
Outcome
The updated design brought a more refined and material-led aesthetic to the 50-50 format. It successfully conveyed a sense of quality and craftsmanship, helping to reinforce Timberland’s positioning as a premium lifestyle brand. The visual refresh received positive feedback internally and externally, helping push the campaign toward a more elevated and authentic direction.
